New possibilities rarely grow from technology in isolation. They appear where engineering meets culture, logic meets intuition, and function meets beauty. EAST VILLAGE chooses to remain independent so that we can move lightly between those fields, question assumptions with care and make work that feels genuinely useful to people.

新しい可能性は、技術だけを深めてもなかなか生まれません。工学と文化、論理と直感、機能と美が出会うところに、小さな変化の芽があります。EAST VILLAGEは自由に領域を行き来できるよう独立を選び、思い込みを丁寧に問い直し、人にとって本当に役立つ仕事をつくります。

Our name brings together two East Villages: Higashiizu, our home—the “village in the east”—and New York’s East Village, known for bohemian culture and independent expression. We value both: a close relationship with place, and the freedom to look beyond convention.

社名には、拠点である「東の村＝東伊豆町」と、ボヘミアン文化や独立した表現で知られるニューヨークのイーストヴィレッジ、二つの意味を重ねています。土地と親しく関わること、そして常識の外側へ自由に目を向けること。その両方を大切にしています。

01 — MAIN PILLAR

COFFEE

Coffee is the heart of our daily practice. Higashiizu Coffee Roastery and Coffee Stand + form a small place on the east coast of the Izu Peninsula, in a town of hot springs and travelers. Rather than prescribing formal rules, we want everyone to feel free to discover a cup that tastes right to them. We hope one cup can become a crossroads of liberal arts—a place where people gather, talk and exchange knowledge and culture. Learning from older wisdom while welcoming new sensibilities, we continue the open-ended work of roasting, brewing and experimenting every day.

珈琲は、私たちの日々の実践の中心です。伊豆半島の東海岸、温泉と旅の町にある小さな焙煎所とスタンドで、堅苦しい流儀よりも、それぞれが気軽に「自分の美味しい」と出会えることを大切にしています。一杯から人が集い、語り、知識や文化が行き交う「コーヒーから始まるリベラルアーツの交差点」を目指して。古い知恵に学び、新しい感覚を楽しみながら、終わりのない焙煎と抽出の試行錯誤を日々重ねています。

IT SOLUTIONS

We undertake technology projects centered on IT—from early planning and system development to websites, ongoing operations and practical digital improvement. We begin by understanding how people actually work, then choose technology that is appropriate, maintainable and comfortable to use.

ITを中心に、企画の初期段階からシステム開発、ウェブ制作、継続的な運用、身近なデジタル改善までお手伝いします。まず実際の仕事や困りごとを理解し、過剰にならず、長く扱えて、使う人に無理のない技術を選びます。

03 — CREATIVE

CREATIVE STUDIO

Our creative work includes design, photography and moving image. We listen for the character already present in a person, place or business, and translate it into an identity, image or story without smoothing away what makes it distinctive.

デザイン、写真撮影、映像制作を中心に、表現に関わる仕事を行います。人や土地、事業がすでに持っている個性に耳を澄まし、その大切な癖や輪郭を消すことなく、かたちや写真、物語へと翻訳します。

04 — PERFORMING ARTS

ARTS MANAGEMENT

We support performing arts from behind the scenes and alongside the artists. Our work includes commissioned production assistance, producing, coordination and day-to-day operations for stage performances. We help connect artistic intent with the people, schedules and practical structures needed to bring a performance to an audience.

舞台公演を、つくる人のそばと舞台裏の両方から支えるアートマネジメント事業です。制作業務の受託、プロデュース、関係者との調整、当日の運営まで、作品の意図を大切にしながら、公演を観客へ届けるために必要な人、時間、仕組みを丁寧につなぎます。

Coffee Stand + is a small place in Shirata where mornings move at an unhurried pace. Please feel free to stop in for one cup, or stay a little longer when you have time. Opening days occasionally change, so we recommend checking Instagram before your visit.

COFFEE STAND +は、白田の朝をゆっくり過ごすための小さな場所です。一杯だけでも、時間のある日は少し長めでも、どうぞ気軽にお立ち寄りください。営業日は時折変更になるため、ご来店前にInstagramをご確認いただくと安心です。

Coffee teaches hospitality, close attention and continual experimentation. Technology gives ideas a working structure. Design, photography and film help them reach people. Performing arts teach us how many different hands can turn an idea into a shared, living moment. Each practice questions and enriches the others.

珈琲からは、人を迎えること、細部への眼差し、試行錯誤を続けることを。ITからは、発想を動く仕組みにする方法を。デザインや写真、映像からは、思いを人へ届ける表現を。舞台芸術からは、多様な人の手で一つの時間を立ち上げ、観客と共有することを学びます。4つの事業が互いに問いを投げかけ、育て合う関係を大切にしています。

Wherever we work, we first try to understand the spirit, culture and people already there. We are based in Higashiizu but not limited by geography—connecting people and ideas across distance while keeping every relationship personal.

どこで仕事をするときも、そこにすでにある精神や文化、人の営みを理解することから始めます。拠点は東伊豆ですが、活動する場所は限定しません。距離を越えて人と発想をつなぎながら、一つひとつの関係は顔の見えるものに保ちます。
